About this site
Welcome to SonosOps, an independent publication launched in Fall 2024 by JuanCarlos Oconitrillo. This site serves as a curated space where I share insights, discoveries, and experiences from my professional journey—both past and future. It's a living repository of my work, a place where I explore the lessons learned across various fields I’ve engaged with, and a platform for reflecting on meaningful experiences that shape my path to success.
Here, you’ll find a showcase of my expertise, drawing from the vast collection of notes, data, and knowledge I’ve accumulated over the years. My goal is to present this information in a clear, professional, and practical way, making it useful not only for those seeking insights but also as a way for me to revisit and reinforce my own learning.
Who am I?
I am a creative professional with a diverse background in fields ranging from photography and music to IT engineering. My journey has been shaped by a passion for learning, and I’m excited to share that with you.
Photographer
As a professional photographer, I focus on more than just taking pictures—I aim to express my feel of my vision with every shot. From concert photography to landscapes, I work to bring out the best in every subject. Photography requires a combination of technical skills and a good eye for capturing emotions and moments, and I’m constantly evolving in this area.
Musician and Producer
Music is another core part of my life. I specialize in guitar and vocals and have written and produced original songs. My focus isn’t just on performing, but on understanding the full creative process—from songwriting and arrangement to studio production to live performances. Being a musician today requires a mix of creativity, technical skill, and knowledge of production tools, which I’ve built over years of practice and collaboration.
Artist Management and Development
One of the things I enjoy most is helping other musicians grow. I work with new artists and bands, guiding them through the process of recording their own music and offering advice on how to manage their careers. The music industry can be complex, but with the right mix of innovation, professionalism, and strategic planning, new artists can succeed. I’m here to help them find that balance.
IT Experience
Alongside my creative work, I also have extensive experience in the IT field. I’ve worked with teams focusing in Center of Excellence (CoE), cybersecurity, and support, gaining a deep understanding of how technology can drive efficiency and security in organizations. I’ve been involved in ensuring systems are secure through rigorous testing, while also providing solutions and support for a wide range of technical issues.
My ability to engage with different teams—whether it's cybersecurity experts or cross-functional departments—has been key in managing IT projects successfully. I thrive in collaborative environments, and my work as an associate has given me the chance to assist and guide others while growing my own technical expertise. The balance between teamwork and problem-solving has always been at the heart of my IT experience.
Each of these roles complements the others. My photography and music benefit from the structure and attention to detail I’ve developed through my work in IT, while my experience working with teams across various fields has sharpened my communication and project management skills. I’m always looking to expand my knowledge and share what I’ve learned along the way.
